Position Overview

Equi is looking for a world class VP, Revenue who loves high octane startups, can lead leaders and is excited by the challenge of owning our entire go-to-market apparatus. This isn’t your first rodeo. You know exactly the people and processes needed, and can bring together the resources to get the job done. You will be in charge of leading Equi’s marketing, sales, partnerships, and community teams and will have an immense impact on our company’s current and future growth.

You’ll be a key member of the executive team and responsible for developing the growth engine that will take us from $100M in AUM to $1B and beyond. Our product is complex, but truly in a category of one if communicated correctly. Our pace of innovation is incredibly fast so marketing and sales needs to keep pace. Although we’re deep in the world of finance, what’s unique about Equi is that, as a team, we aren’t driven by accumulating wealth. Own: what is this person singularly responsible for?

  • Be accountable for the customer journey, end to end, and ensure a world-class customer experience with smooth hand-off’s between marketing, sales, partnerships, and community.
  • You will be in charge of overseeing the integration of our sales, marketing, and community functions.
  • Ensure we have the right people, in the right seats, and that everyone is communicating with no silos.
  • Lead the revenue organization to over-perform to plan, accurately forecast revenue, and track to critical KPIs and sales metrics.
  • Drive cross-functional communication to ensure sales and marketing communicate well, share information, and collaborate in content creation so that all messaging fits our target customers.
  • Monitor and analyze the revenue pipeline and customer leads, adjusting as necessary to maintain sustainable growth and targets.Monitor the alternative investment market to identify strategic & tactical growth opportunities.

Assist: what will this person be involved in, or collaborating with other individuals + teams on?

  • Partner with other members of the executive team to execute the current strategic plan, and develop future plans to achieve company goals.
  • Seeking input from Head of Sales, manage the sales forecasting, budgeting and planning process.
  • Collaborate with Head of Partnerships to develop our plan for channel distribution.
  • Partner with executive team to execute current and future strategic plans ensuring we are hitting the growth targets we established.
  • Partner with Head of Sales to create a standardized outreach for current and future customers and coordinate its implementation across Asset Management, Sales, Marketing and Investor Relations.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to ensure alignment on revenue metrics, sales targets, and forecasts.
  • Stay well-connected with Asset Management to ensure our customers needs are being incorporated into product development.
  • Ensure marketing is driving sufficient top of funnel to meet the organizations’ needs, and similarly, that sales and community is staffed appropriately to meet demand.

Knowledge: what experience does this person need to possess?

  • 10+ years of building and leading high performing data driven teams as a CRO / CMO / Head of Sales or in a similar role within the tech industry. Bonus points for being a founder, or taking a company from seed stage to Series A (and beyond) in an executive role.
  • Experience owning and driving a successful revenue organization to achieve goals in all areas of sales execution, including lead generation, pipeline management, closing deals and maintaining the existing customer base.
  • You love high octane startups, can take the lead yourself, and drive strategy from start to finish.
  • Collaborative leader and clear communicator with strong verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Data-driven and analytical thinker with the ability to hire, retain and develop high-performing teams through periods of growth.
  • Business and results-minded with deep analytical skills to track pipeline and revenue.
  • Self-starter who wants to lay the foundation by building processes and strategy to make a huge impact on our business.

Learn: what can they learn on the job?

  • Deep knowledge of the alternative investments space needed to help drive customer engagement and revenue conversion.
  • How to identify, quantify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to test new and emerging channels in the family office / hedge fund space.
